Problem

• Requirement to migrate Splunk from Amazon Web Services to Google Cloud
• Migration needed to have no impact to users and be complete by a specific date
• Must have 90 days of historical data into the new environment
• Large technical differences between GCP and AWS platforms to overcome

Solution

• Worked with customer to plan and design a suitable transition approach 
• Configured and prepared new GCP Splunk environment
• Migrated data sources, historic data and users over to new environment

• Seamless migration prior to deadline, with zero downtime
• Successful migration of large historic data volume with no data loss
• Customer decommissioned legacy AWS environment upon migration
